Utilities and Power

Saskatchewan Telecommunications and the Saskatchewan Power Corporation serve Lanigan and the surrounding area with telephone, power, and natural gas.

 

Municipal facilities and services are capable of serving a population of over 2,500, almost double Lanigan's current population.

 

Water Supply & Sewer

Source is the Dellwood Resevoir and surface water is provided by Sask Water. Lanigan has its own water treatment facility. The Operator maintains the current certification level as required by the Province of Saskatchewan. Average daily flow is approximately 120,000 gallons with a maximum capacity of 250,000 gallons.

 

Lanigan has a two cell lagoon. The main lift station is located at the corner of Hoover Street and Industrial Drive and was last upgraded in 1990. The sewer rate is included as part of the water rate.

 

Minimum water and sewage  rate is $55.00 per month which provides residents with a capacity of 4,000 gallons. Overage is charged at $13.75 per 1,000 gallons over the minimum.

Waste Disposal

There is garbage disposal service to the residential area, which is provided by the REACT Waste Management Authority. A transfer station is located 1km West of Lanigan. REACT uses a "Tag a Bag" program which charges residents $1.25 per bag of garbage. Tags are available a the Town Office.

 

Garbage is collected every Monday.

 

Landfill Hours of Operation:
Tuesday   1:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. (Summer)
  1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Winter)
Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

 

Streets

All streets are paved.

 

Airport

Lanigan has a grass landing strip catering to light aircraft.
